Welcome to the Hiwassee Meadowland Park. Established in 1986 as a Tennessee Homecoming '86 project, the park features walking trails, lighted softball field, playground, picnic areas, restrooms and a new outdoor pavilion that seats 250. The park lies adjacent to an Original Trail of Tears Route of 1838, and within the park is a Tennessee Civil War Trails marker denoting the "Destruction of the Meeting House". The park is the site of various festivals and events and is well known for its annual Christmas display of lights. The park is free to use and may be scheduled for special events by contacting Calhoun City Hall at 423-336-2348. Pictures of the new pavilion construction can be seen below.
